T & C's - KTB Mile

 

Entries

  • Entries are open to all ages. Any entrant under 18 must be entered by an adult legally responsible for them. By entering you are confirming that you have read and agreed to these terms and conditions.

  • Children aged 6 or under must be accompanied during the race by an adult legally responsible for them, or by an adult selected by the person legally responsible for them.

  • RACE NUMBERS WILL NEED TO BE COLLECTED FROM THE KTB ENTRY DESK AT THE WATER PARK ON RACE MORNING. You must not give your/your child’s race number to anyone else.

  • Buggies/prams for younger children or wheelchairs can be used, but you must start at the back of the field.(note – most of the run is on grass and these may not be suitable for use on the day if conditions are wet)

  • No personal music playing devices – MP3’s, iPods or similar are allowed.This is important to allow our emergency services to operate safely on the day.They may not be able to do this if participants are unable to hear what is happening around them throughout the race.

  • Depending on the number of entrants, the race may be split into 2 races – 10.10 am for School Yr 6 and under (along with guardian or legally appointed adult person) and 10.25 for School year 7 and above (including all adults).

Route

  • The route is alongside 2 lakes and crosses one of them and therefore there is a potential water hazard. It is up to the legally responsible adult to take full care of a child in their care at all times.

  • The route is flat and uses paths/grass/tarmac/road, the route will be clearly marked and marshals will direct runners along the way – please follow their instructions at all times.

Medical information

  • Medical condition – if you or the person you are legally responsible for have a medical condition or ailment, this is your responsibility and we advise you consult your GP before entering this run.

  • Name and phone number of emergency contact as well as any medical conditions/medications being taken to be written on the reverse of your race number.

  • You/your child enter this run at your own risk and will not hold the organisers responsible for any accident (including fatal), injury or loss to themselves prior to, during or after the event.

  • We reserve the right at our discretion, to stop any runner from taking part if we deem them to be medically unfit to run.

Race Ejection

  • We reserve the right to refuse to allow any entrant to participate in the event either at the start or at any points along the route if the participant is deemed to behaving inappropriately or give cause for concern that their participation may cause offence or injury to themselves, spectators or other competitors. Failure to comply with any instruction from race officials and marshals will result in ejection from the race.

Physical contact

  • By it’s nature, sport can require a degree of physical contact between adults and young people.Physical contact can be used appropriately to instruct, encourage, protect or comfort.By entering your child, you agree to allow such physical contact where it is reasonably required in order to do this as well as treat an injury, prevent an injury or for other reasons of health and safety.

Travelling to the event

  • By entering you accept complete responsibility for any injury or accident which may occur to you , your child or other spectators within your group whilst you are travelling to or from the event, during the event, or while on the premises of the event.

Cancellation of the event

  • We reserve the right to cancel, delay or postpone the event due to unforeseen or unavoidable circumstances out of our reasonable control.We shall not be liable for any inconvenience, expenses, costs, losses or damages suffered by participants.A decision will be made to cancel or delay at the earliest possible time.The website www.bosworthhalf.comwill be updated as soon as possible with this information.The race entry fee will remain non-refundable/non-deferrable.

Collection and use of information

  • Personal information regarding participants will only be used by us and any appointed third parties for purposes in connection with the event and any subsequent events that we may organise or administer.By entering the event you grant full and irrevocable permission for us to pass any medical details you have given us relating to any participant to the medical teams operating on the day of the event.

Photography

  • There will be a race photographer on the course.They will be wearing official photographer hi-viz clothing.You can purchase these pictures through the official photographer’s own site.

  • We would like to be able to use the images of young people that are taken during the event for publicity purposes, please read the following conditions we will use for using these images:-

             Full names (first and last name) will not be used with an image without good reason – for example a prize win.

             We will not include personal email or postal addresses, telephone or fax numbers on our website

              We may use group images with general labels such as ‘keepthebeat’ mile runners.

              We will only use images of children who are suitably dressed to reduce the risk of such images being used inappropriately.

 

Disclaimer

It is your responsibility to seek appropriate medical advice prior to participation for you or a child you are entering.  By entering yourself or a child in the event you acknowledge that we shall not be liable for death, injury, loss or damage arising from participation in the event howsoever caused.  All under 18 year olds must be entered by a person legally responsible for them.
